\u26e9\ufe0f Temple Explication | The Descent of the Celestial Maidens for the Qilong Ritual: The Seven Stars refer to the Big Dipper, located north of the Supreme Palace enclosure (Taimei). Folklore tells us that the Seven Stars are the seven weaver maiden sisters of heaven, whose exceptional weaving skills create beautiful rosy clouds. Because the youngest sister, Yaoguang, fell in love with a mortal cowherd and bore him children, the Queen Mother of the West permitted them to meet once a year on the Magpie Bridge during the Qixi Festival. The other six sisters silently protect the mortal children and all destined bonds under heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Qiniangniang enshrined in this temple is a spirit branch-off from Tainan's Fucheng Kailong \u5bae.
